You are about to start an exercise program like no other. There are a lot of myths about exercise and how it impacts weight loss. Maybe you have started an exercise program before only to find that it was hard to keep with it, or that it did not give you the results that you wanted.

That is all about to change.

Ponce de Leon was the famous explorer who spent much of his later life searching for the fountain of youth. The irony of his journey was that it was his quest that would extend his life and not some mythical waters that would turn back the clock. Ponce de Leon’s walking in search of the fountain of youth did more to extend his life than any mythical waters ever could; too bad an arrow cut his life short.

Exercise, you see, has so many positive benefits that it could be considered your own personal fountain of youth. Recent studies have shown that exercise can:

  • Improve diabetes
  • Improve Sleep
  • Lower blood pressure and raise HDL (the good cholesterol)
  • Reduce depression and anxiety
  • Reduce the risk of developing heart disease, colon cancer, breast cancer, osteoporosis
  • Extend your life expectancy
  • Prevent back pain
  • Boost your immune system
  • Makes you feel great

All of this, and of course, exercise can help you to lose weight.

Action Plan: Life Long Commitment

Today is the day your commit to an exercise program. Don’t worry about how long you should be exercising or what kind of exercise program just yet, but take the time to look at your life and find ways to incorporate exercise into your daily life.

Park your car a little farther away from the store or work. Take the stairs. Look for these small opportunities to change your life for the better. Look for these changes to last a lifetime, because once you see how good you feel, you will want to make sure that exercise is part of your daily routine.
