How did last week go? Did you find ways to walk a little farther or not use a car so much? The more you look, the more you will find.

Here is the thing that you need to know about your body for this week: Your body is meant to be used. Our ancestors used their bodies far more than we do. We used to walk wherever we went, do our dishes and clothes by hand, hunt, swim, jump, and dance. Many of the time-saving devices that we have take away a chance to burn off some of the energy that we take in every day.

Ultimately, the only way to lose weight is to keep from storing fat (which we talk about in other paths) or burn off those calories by exercising. Ideally, you want to do both. Remember that exercise, just like drugs, has side-effects, only exercise’s side-effects mean that you look younger, live longer, and have more energy.

You may have been to the doctor and had the doctor issue a prescription for you, today you are going to get a prescription from us. When we give you the prescription paper you see the scrawled letters “MYBA”. What the heck is MYBA? -never could read what was on a prescription pad anyway.

What is MYBA?

This is your prescription for exercise; MYBA stands for Move Your Buns Around!

Action Plan: MYBA

Grab a bunch of sticky notes and write the letters MYBA on them and stick them in your car, on your mirror, next to your computer, on the television, on the refrigerator. Put them all over your house, car, and workplace.

Heck, why don’t you ask your local pharmacist for a few real prescription pads and write MYBA on them too.

MYBA is your commitment to not only look for extra ways incorporate exercise into your life (week 1 commitment), but also to find time each day to an exercise routine.
