Astaxanthin is a potent antioxidant that has been used extensively in Japan and other countries for eye fatigue, skin conditions, and muscle endurance, and it is gaining more of a following these days in the United States as well. We recently came across a remarkable animal study involving the antioxidant and diabetes. Scientists started treatment of Astaxanthin in this study on the subjects at 6 weeks of age.
